Active Living and Parks
Promotes health through wellness programs, social activities and coordinated aging-related services. Provides parks, trails, and open space; year–round athletic programs; and special events to enhance quality of life.

The region’s prime venue for concert, convention, sporting and agricultural event, tradeshow, meeting and reception needs.

Board of Commissioners
Cabarrus County is governed by a five–member Board, which adopts an annual budget, establishes the property tax rate, sets policies and objectives, and adopts ordinances, rules and regulations in addition to other responsibilities.

Board of Elections
Administers accurate, free and efficient elections for all federal, state, county and special elections.

Communications and Outreach
Provides information about County projects, services and events through media outlets, the County website and cable Channel 22.

Cooperative Extension
An educational partnership designed to sustain agriculture, protect the environment, develop responsible youth, transform communities, and build strong, healthy families.

Emergency Management
Plans for and responds to emergency situations and educates citizens in fire safety and emergency preparedness. Divisions include Fire Marshal and Homeland Security.

Emergency Medical Services
Provides 24–hour emergency and non–emergency stretcher transport to County residents.

The Cabarrus County Fair is held each September at Cabarrus Arena and Events Center on Highway 49 in Concord. The Fair features music performances, midway rides, games, food, a petting zoo, agriculture education, exhibits and more.

The Finance Department is responsible for maintaining the County's accounting and reporting system in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

General Services
Provides general maintenance to facilities, grounds, fleet and street signs owned by Cabarrus County.

Human Resources
Oversees personnel practices and ensures compliance, administers employee benefits and maintains personnel records and files.

Information Technology Services
Provides computer and communication services including; business and data services, technical architectural services, network data and telecommunications services, web development, application development and GIS.

Library System
Offers adult and juvenile collections, reference resources, Internet access and CD and DVD checkout at four library facilities.

Planning and Development
Oversees growth and development review from long-range planning to building occupancy. Divisions include: Planning, Zoning, Construction Standards, Soil and Water Conservation and Community/Economic Development.

Register of Deeds
Records and maintains official documents including marriage licenses, birth and death certificates, and land records.

Enforces and maintains public safety. Divisions include Animal Control, Civil/Records, Crime Scene, Communications, Community Policing, Courthouse Security, DARE/School Resource Officers, Jail and Patrol.

Social Services
Provides financial assistance, protective services, and an array of services to help individuals and families maintain/enhance health, safety and well-being.

Solid Waste Management
Provides recycling programs and operates a household hazardous waste facility, a construction and demolition landfill, and garbage disposal and recycling center.

Tax Administration
Oversees the listing and assessing of all real, personal and business property, maintains real estate ownership through land records and collects county taxes.

Provides transportation services that enable all eligible individuals to access necessary medical care and other resources that can improve and enhance their quality of life. By providing transportation for essential services, we promote an independent lifestyle that allows individuals to remain in their homes as long as possible.

Veterans Services
Assists local veterans in securing aid with health benefits, pensions, compensation, insurance, home loans and education assistance.
